Getting Ready for School - My pratctical tips

Hey there, fellow mammas and dads too!

I can't believe it's already that time of year again – back to school! Ready for a few tried and true thing or two you can do to get your little and big ones prepped and pumped for school this year!

First things first – let's tackle the school supply list. I know it can be overwhelming with all the pencils, notebooks, and folders galore. My most important reminder - not all the supplies have to be new. What did you have left over from last year, what do you have at home that might not have been used. highlighters last more than 1 school year (if they did not lose them). Involve the kids in the process! Make it a fun outing and let them pick out their favorite colors and designs when you are getting new folders or lunch bags. Trust me, when they're excited about their gear, they're more likely to feel excited about school too.

Now, we all know mornings can be the ultimate struggle, Start easing back into the school routine a week or two before the big day. Gradually adjust bedtimes and wake-up times, so the first day isn't a rude awakening for everyone (including you!).

One of my favorite things about back-to-school prep is shopping for new clothes. Those growth spurts seem to hit at the most inconvenient times! School clothes can be tricky. Especially as the kids get older. They do not ned a new wardrobe. Staples can come from lots of different places (this is where you save money.) Getting a few specific things that will make your kids feel strong and confident will help so much! This can be from a store they like of a type of clothing.

Get involved in the school community, attend meet-the-teacher events, and be in the know about upcoming school activities. Volunteering is a fantastic way to show your support, and it helps you keep track of what's going on in your child's life.

Last but not least, Lunch! I will admit that in an effort to give my kids a mid day pick me up I pack something they like. I will pack food that I do not always have at home. I try for healthier options, but this is defiantly when I put in fruit snacks they like and the (protein)granola bars they want - even thought you and I know they are not always the best things. Again, I am looking for a mid day pick me up. Lunch is a great place for this - especially when they are too old to see a note from mom at school.

So there you have it, some tips to make this back-to-school season a little easier. Take it from me; a little preparation and a whole lot of love go a long way. Before you know it, your kids will be conquering the school year! Until next time, happy prepping and remember, you've got this! 🎒📚😊
